Cosy Villa Blanca is an accessible and affordable lodge offering a gentle introduction to the cloud forest. Set on a private reserve with winding forest trails as well as a small farm and chapel, you can completely immerse yourself in rural Costa Rica here, despite being only an hour’s drive from the capital. Accommodation is in snug ‘casitas’ each with their own fireplace as well as an outdoor terrace, ideal for listening to the sounds of the forest. There are no televisions in the rooms but there is a small cinema room in the main lodge building, or you may wish to simply curl up with a book in front of the fire. In addition to nature walks along the surrounding cloud forest trails, the lodge can arrange a variety of off-site tours such as zip lining, rafting, visits to the Poas Volcano, coffee plantations or a handicrafts village.
