Laguna Lodge is a delightful and friendly mid-range lodge in the heart of Tortuguero National Park. This lodge makes a brilliant value base from which to explore the rainforest and unique canals of this region. Also it does make a good base for families with an especially good-sized pool area and a large laidback buffet style restaurant for easy casual dining. Being located between the main lagoon of Tortuguero and the Caribbean Sea, it is easy to access the small and laidback little town of Tortuguero itself as well as the main coastal beach where turtles lay their eggs and hatch in season too. With direct access to this beach, you can head out early morning on your own to watch for turtles if you wish, in addition to arranged guided tours.

As well as the restaurant, there are several bars dotted around the property that you can enjoy a refreshing drink in the tropical temperatures. The main bar is situated at the river’s edge, with a deck over the water, where you can witness the amazing sunsets by the lagoon. The rooms are dotted around the 6 acres of tropical gardens in small bungalow buildings. They are simple in design in rustic wooden local style but are really spacious and comfortable with modern bathrooms. They have two double beds in each room so can accommodate a family of four very comfortably. This is a great lodge in a super location, ideally suited to families in particular.
